Don’t miss Buffalo Opera Unlimited’s production of Giacomo Puccini’s blockbuster opera La Bohème, a timeless tale of tragic romance that inspired the hit musical Rent.  This is a story about real people – starving artists facing the cruel realities of poverty and ill health.  Can young love, first love, survive the difficulties life throws at Rodolfo and Mimì?  With this great love story comes Puccini’s lush music, including arias like “Musetta’s Waltz.”

The opera will be sung in Italian with English surtitles.

Featured in the cast are BOU favorites Jenna Washburn as Mimì, Daniel Kamalić as Rodolfo, Brandon Mecklenburg as Marcello, Nicholas Kilkenny as Colline, Kyle Botsford as Schaunard, and Stephen Edge as Alcindoro, as well as newcomers Julia Ebner as Musetta and Tim Flynn as Benoit.  BOU’s new artistic director Matthew Marco will conduct, and stage direction will be in the hands of Paul Mockovak, making his BOU debut.
