The Buffalo State Philharmonia will present its final performance of the 2016–2017 season with “Symphonic Masterworks,” a celebration of women in music. This is a joint performance with the college’s Chamber Choir and Chorale.

The concert will feature Joan Tower's For the Uncommon Woman, Fanny (Mendelssohn) Hensel's Cantata 'Hiob', and the Buffalo-area premiere of  Florence Price's Symphony No. 3 in C-minor.

The concert will also feature winners of the Young Artist Competition.

The Philharmonia will perform under the direction of Daniel Bassin, a composer, trumpeter, and conductor. The choirs will perform under the direction of Dr. Victoria Furby and John Fleischman.
